MRI Breast Scan - MRM
Breast cancer awareness is increasing in Israel and abroad. Hundreds of thousands of women in Israel understand that breast scans and early detection can prevent this severe disease and save their lives.
The development of science has provided the field of medicine with advanced and highly accurate diagnostics tools. The MRM Scan, which is based on the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) technique, enables earlier and more accurate detection of breast diseases.

The frequency of breast cancer is rising, and one out of every nine women may contract the disease. This is the most common cancer among women. An early detection program is being run today in Israel. The goal of this program is to detect breast cancer in its early stages, because it has been proven that the earlier the detection, the better the chance of recovery, up to 90%. When cancer is detected after it has started to spread, the chance of recovery drops significantly.
Who is this test intended for?
- Women whose breasts seem "dense" in mammography, especially young women of fertile age
- Women with breast implants, in order to detect a leakage or rupture in the implant, and to detect additional findings such as inflammation and tumors
- Women with a family history of breast cancer, who have a positive BRCA gene
- Women whose diagnosis does not clearly distinguish between malignant and benign
- Women who need pre-surgical evaluation to determine whether to perform a full or partial amputation
- Women who are undergoing oncological treatment and are interested in receiving an exact evaluation of its progress and efficiency
- Women who have had a breast tumor removed and need a diagnosis to differentiate between a surgical scar and a recurring tumor

Breast MRI scans enable a high-quality diagnosis of breast diseases, with a very high level of accuracy, thanks to the new MRI device, whose function is based on a technological combination of a powerful magnet, radio waves and computerized data processing. Magnetic resonance enables the detection of early and minute pathological changes in the human body.
The computerized data processing provides accurate information, which enables optimal detection and diagnosis of the findings. The MRM scan is extremely sensitive and can discover minute bodies with a diameter of 2 millimeters or more. The examination covers the breast tissue, the thoracic wall, the axilla and the nipple.
It provides a clearer and more comprehensive image than other imaging techniques can provide.

The examination is performed in a radiation-free magnetic field. It lasts for about 30 minutes, during which time the woman lies on the examination bed. No advance preparations are required for this examination.

Women who have undergone cosmetic implantation (breast enlargement) should undergo mammography examinations like all other women, starting from the age of 50. However, in many cases, the presence of an implant limits the sensitivity of the mammography. If an implant is suspected of having a problem, performing an MRM scan enables not only the detection of a leakage or rupture in the implant, but also scans the "hidden" breast tissue behind the implant and enables detection of tumors.
